Top Ranked Flight Schools in the USA
Choosing a pilot school is not easy. There are many factors to consider. We at Sierra Charlie Aviation, however, think that what we offer is the very best you can get. We are among the top ranked flight schools in the USA.
About Sierra Charlie
Sierra Charlie Aviation provides flight training under the authority of Federal Aviation Regulations (or FAR) Part 61, which gives students greater flexibility than FAR Part 141 training. We are also a Cessna Pilot Center.
We are located at Scottsdale Airport (SDL) at the base of the McDowell Mountains. This is an excellent environment in which to teach and learn piloting. This is because:
- The tower-controlled airport provides a learning environment that is both safe and stable;
- There are more than 300 days of sunny days, which helps to guarantee a consistent schedule;
- There is quick access to a variety of airports and airspace in Scottsdale, Phoenix, Tempe, Glendale, Mesa, Chandler, and other areas;
- There is no commercial commuter or airline service, which means less aircraft traffic and more time in the air for you.
What Is a Cessna Pilot Center?
Sierra Charlie Aviation is proud to be a Cessna Pilot Center (CPC). We offer top-quality flight training in new Cessna Skyhawk 172 aircraft and provide one of the finest learning experiences for prospective pilots.
As a Cessna Pilot Center, we use the Cessna Flight Training System, a comprehensive, proven flight-training program that produces competent, prepared and confident new pilots about 30% faster than the national average.
Sierra Charlie has once again been chosen as one of the top flight schools in the country. The Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association has selected us for this distinction and has also chosen our owner and senior flight instructor, Scott Campbell, as one of the top 1% of instructors in the nation. Additionally, the AOPA selected another one of our senior instructors, Tom DeYoung, as a member of that same top 1% list.
One of the things that makes us strong is the wide variety of backgrounds from which our instructors come. We like to think that our experience as well as our educational practices makes us different than other flight schools. We can teach almost anyone how to fly, how to navigate complex machinery, how to be a commercial pilot, and even how to be a flight instructor!
Why We Are a Part 61 School
One of our guiding principles at Sierra Charlie is that a good flight education needs to be flexible enough to meet the needs of each student individually. Our FAR Part 61 training program is more flexible than a FAR Part 141 program – an important factor for students who are unable to train full-time.
If you plan to fly for enjoyment with your friends and family and are only available for training on a part-time basis, our Part 61 flight school can offer you excellent flexibility with one-on-one instruction tailored to your schedule.
If you are trying to choose a pilot school, we urge you to consider Sierra Charlie Aviation, one of the top ranked flight schools in the USA. If you would like more information, please call us at (480) 474-4115.
