Pilot Flight Training School Mesa, AZ
Are you in or near Mesa, AZ? If so, then you know the kind of clear skies Arizona has to offer. You may also know how great a place it is to learn to fly. If you are looking for a high-quality pilot flight training school, then look no further than Sierra Charlie Aviation in beautiful, sunny Scottsdale.
Why Choose Sierra Charlie?
Sierra Charlie Aviation is a certified Cessna Pilot Center (CPC). We currently provide flight training under the authority of Federal Aviation Regulations (or FAR) Part 61. If you have a limited amount of time for training, our Part 61 flight school offers you excellent flexibility.
Our flight school has been selected by the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) as one of the top flight schools in the country. We have been recognized year after year by The Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA), the world’s largest aviation association, for our high standard of accomplishment in flight training. We recently won the 2019 Flight Training Experience Award for Best Flight School in the Western Region.
As a certified Cessna Pilot Center (CPC), we utilize the Airman Certification Standards issued by the FAA, the King School’s syllabus, and a wide range of first-hand experience to ensure that each testable item is covered and that each student is ready for a real-world flying experience.
Our growing training fleet includes six four-seat, high-wing Cessna 172 Skyhawks, one round gauge and five that are G1000 equipped and coupled with GFC700 autopilot. Glass cockpit aircraft like these contain many safety features that can reduce accidents when pilots are trained to use them properly. The 172’s features rival the digital glass panels found in the cockpits of most commercial and corporate aircraft today.
Become a Private Pilot
The most popular certificate is the private pilot certificate, also called the private pilot license. It permits you to fly any single-engine, piston driven aircraft anywhere in the US. You can fly day or night in any conditions acceptable to Visual Flight Rules (VFR; minimum of 3 miles of visibility).
The certificate enables you to take to the skies with friends and family or on personal business, but does not permit you to fly for hire or compensation (although expenses like fuel, oil and rental charges may be shared).
Once you’ve earned your Private Pilot Certificate, you can continue building experience and skills through instrument training, learn to fly multi-engine aircraft, and work toward your Commercial Pilot Certificate, which will enable you to get paid to fly!
If you want to be a pilot, then you need a flight training school. Not all schools are created equal, however, and not all locations are equally as conducive to great learning.
